Hydrocefalus, ook wel waterhoofd, is een aandoening waarbij in de ventrikels te veel hersenvocht aanwezig is en de ventrikels vergroot zijn. De overmaat aan hersenvocht oefent druk uit op de hersenen, waardoor hersenfuncties kunnen worden aangetast.
